It makes putting self-tanner on your back so much easier. I personally would recommend it because without it I'd never reach my back but it still is difficult to make sure you're getting everywhere.

Solid "Ok." Still Better to Have Someone Help You
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this somewhat difficult to use as it was cumbersome, awkward, and took much longer to do my back than having someone else do it for me.
Don't get me wrong, it works, and I got an even color. I used the dark side of the applicator to initially apply the foam (I used the Self-Tanning Foam, Dark) and then the blue spongey side to spread/blend. But I found it difficult to apply to the middle of my back and I had to keep taking pictures of my back in the mirror to make sure I didn't miss a spot. With all that work, it took me longer to do my back than it did the rest of my body.
The applicator will work in a pinch, but if my husband is around, I'll just have him do it, regardless of his complaining. ;-)
