Product Description

Improve the appearance of overall skin texture and visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles with Medik8’s plant-based retinol (vitamin A) alternative.

Formulated with clinically proven but gentle 1.25% bakuchiol, Bakuchiol Peptides is the perfect age-defying serum for those who are unable to use retinol (e.g. when pregnant or nursing).

This calming and lightweight serum delivers a visibly plumper, smoother and youthful-looking complexion - with a more even texture and tone. Enhanced with another innovative stability system from Medik8, the formula remains effective and potent until the very last drop.

Key Benefits:
Targets Multiple Signs of Ageing
This lightweight serum can be used both day and night to effectively reduce the appearance of uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines and wrinkles.

Pregnancy-Friendly, Age-Defying Results
Delivers powerful visible results akin to traditional vitamin A (retinol) formulas while being suitable for use during pregnancy/nursing.*

Calms Visible Redness
Calms and conditions the skin, helping to reduce any visible redness and inflammation.

NOTE
*Due to ethical considerations, Bakuchiol Peptides has not been tested on pregnant women. However, there is nothing in the formula which is known to cause any issues during pregnancy or nursing (e.g. vitamin A or high levels of exfoliating acids). If you are at all concerned, always consult your doctor before use.

Key Ingredients:
Bakuchiol (1.25%)
A clinically proven retinol alternative, bakuchiol works by helping to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through supporting elastin and collagen production within the skin. Gentle but effective, it is suitable for those who aren’t able to tolerate vitamin A.

Brightening Peptide Precursors
This amino acid effortlessly penetrates through the skin barrier, helping to prevent the production of melanin which triggers visible discolouration and dark spots. It therefore supports a visibly even and brighter skin tone.

Centella Asiatica
Also known as cica, this naturally-derived extract delivers potent anti-inflammatory properties for a visibly calmer and comfortable complexion.

Inka Omega Oil
An organic and rich source of natural omegas, it works to intensely replenish the skin's natural barrier while strengthening it against moisture loss.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mild but effective A great alternative to retinol, which I cannot use everyday due to my sensitive skin. It is very pleasant to put on, and the slight oiliness of the product counteracts the dryness beautifully. Would highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth unblemished skin I couldn't carry on using vitamin A derivatives on my skin because I was pregnant. I have textured acne prone skin and decided to give this product a go. Its an absolute gem. Skin is smooth and plump, must be the peptides!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gentle retinol alternative I bought this lovely oil based serum as an alternative to retinol as I was becoming increasingly more sensitive to my usual retinol. It’s a really light oil which I use after liquid peptides, am and pm. It sinks in immediately and doesn’t leave any greasy residue. It sits very well under makeup and doesn’t cause any pilling. My skin looks brighter and feels really soft. I’ve been using for a few weeks and my fine lines are looking more hydrated and much less noticeable. Great serum.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Confused I decided to try this product because I’ve heard a lot about retinal in skincare and its benefits for acne. However, I wanted to start with a gentler option and found that bakuchiol is often recommended as a plant-based, hydrating alternative. When I received the product, I hesitated to use it immediately. I was reintroducing other products into my routine and wanted to ensure everything was okay with my skin. So, I gradually introduced a new product every other week. After a week of using this product, I noticed bumps (which I think were congestion) around my chin, something I had never experienced before. I stopped using it for a while and switched to Medik8's BHA toner as my sole exfoliant to clear it up, but it didn’t really work. I decided to return to using this product to confirm if it was the cause of my issues—and unfortunately, it was. I experienced more acne, mainly red bumps that hadn’t fully developed into pimples, along with more congestion. I’m unsure if this is purging, but my skin is definitely at its worst. I also considered using it alongside Medik8's BHA toner to see if that might help, but I'm worried that might be too strong for my skin. I’m now torn between continuing to use it in hopes of improvement or stopping because it doesn’t seem to suit my skin.
