We caught up with the lovely team at Nails.INC to gather the freshest nail tricks to see you through the season - all with the help of their spring-ready, planet-kind Plant Power collection.

What are the top nail trends this spring?

If you're wearing less make-up, let your manicure be an accessory. Have fun with pops of colour, like lemon, lilac, and mint, and don’t be afraid to create ombré manicures. Our colours are also perfect for elevating the classic white French and dot manicures with a colourful twist. If you have the time, try using nail art tools for trending dot and stripe manicures! We promise it’s worth it.

What inspired the shades in the Plant Power collection?

To have fun! All these colours are bound to brighten up your day, plus we've got all the best easy-to-use nail art for you to try at home! We wanted to give you the chance to match the sunnier, brighter weather to your mood, especially with our newly launched Spring shades. We have everything from lemon to lilac!

Which is your go-to shade this season, and why?

Lilac is the new pink! We’re loving this fresh take on the perfect everyday glossy mani. Switch out pale pink for a more trend-aware lilac, like Alter Eco from our Plant Power range. Originally, we were inspired to work with this tone as it’s a colour we’re seeing all over Gen Z street style at the moment.

Is there a nail shape you hope to see more of right now?

The natural almond nail. We’re always a fan of natural nail shapes, but long squared-off styles are currently trending, of course. We love a bold impactful colour on a shorter nail, but super-long nude nails also stand out so well!

What are your top ways to create/ tips for creating a feature nail, and is there a quick and easy way to create if you’re pressed on time?

The easiest way to create a feature nail this season is to add a Spring flower to your ring finger nail. Grab a dotting tool (or if you don’t have one, you could try using a cocktail stick), choose your fave shade and start painting! If you want a trend that’s even quicker and easier to tap into, try skittle nails. Pick five shades (preferably Plant Power…), and paint one on each nail. That way, you can create a colourful rainbow effect, in the same time it takes to paint a classic manicure.

What's the best way to prep your nails to get long lasting payoff?

Applying a top coat (like the Nails.INC Plant Power top coat) to polished nails halfway through the week will bring back the shine and re-add the strength. Also, keeping your hands hydrated and not too dry is a huge help! This is to keep the cuticles soft, which helps keep a manicure for longer. Also, don’t forget to wear gloves whenever you’re cleaning or washing up. For either polish or gels, the chemicals can make your polish chip and your gels lift up. Wearing gloves whenever you can will protect them and your hands in general.
